UNE FENETRE SUR LE MONDE / A window to the world

That is what the "Grande Arche" in La Défense stands for. On the commemorative plaque it is written:
"Idea, an open cube, a window to the world, a symbol of hope for the future, that all men can meet freely."

The blip shows the backside of the plaque and describes the virtual connection around the globe: Imagine to extend the axis of the Louvre - Place de la Concorde - Champs-Élysées - Arc de Triomphe - Grande Arche a bit more, much more and then to the extent that it would go round the globe. That's the line shown, traversing UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, Mexico, Polynesia and then returning via East Africa, Arabia, Middle East and some more European countries.
