Lake Tekapo

Those that have travelled the South Island of NZ will know of the magnificent teal blues of Lake Tekapo.  Today was no exception, the day magnificent, clear skies and very very hot.  I took this photo from where we had our lunch, we found a nice big tree that gave ample shade.
Then a 40 minute drive through the McKenzie Basin to the town of Twizel.
It was so hot, 34° we couldn’t sit on the terrace under umbrellas for long, so adjoined to their garden and sat under some tree were there was a slight breeze.
A lovely afternoon just chatting, then nibbles and drinks before a fabulous bbq dinner.  Oh so so lucky.

Not sure what is in store for us tomorrow, but I don’t really care, just happy to do not much.
It’s meant to be a bit cooler tomorrow.
