Night Blooming Cactus

What a treat to spot this gorgeous flower sprouting from the top of a pretty ugly cactus. They bloom at night and die during the day, not even lasting 24 hours! Many people keep them indoors but this is outside on my daily walk, and is the second bloom on this cactus with one more to go. It's such a shame that its beauty can't be enjoyed longer! Today I am thankful I was at the right place at the right time
