Walk in the Park

Today it is sunny. It's still cold, but it's sunny. So... I suggested to Shelly we take a walk in the park. We drove up to Whatcom Falls Park and soon discovered that the parking lot was a sea of ice, as were most of the trails. We were able to reach the cleared trail down to the bridge below the waterfall so we walked there. This view is off to the left, below where the falls and the bridge are, from near the top of the short trail that goes down to the bridge. The sun was illuminating the moss and it was stunningly beautiful. We tried to find another open path but there were none we could reach without walking on ice so we returned to the car. Then I tried to back out of the parking place. Oops. Luckily two very kind people helped Shelly push while I backed up the car. Lesson learned. Don't park head down into an icy spot.
