A postcard from 1905

It was another cloudy day today. We trundled our supplies home from the very quiet supermarket in our bag on wheels. We spent the rest of the day in the house. A good chance to sort out some more of our stuff!

T unearthed this postcard. It was sent from Edinburgh to Golspie on 3rd November 1905. My late mother had used it as a bookmark and we discovered it a few years ago. It came to light again today in the aftermath of our house move!

The two instructions on the reverse were very stern! “This space can be used for inland correspondence only” and “The address only to be written here”.

For those unfamiliar with Edinburgh may not recognise this Edwardian view of Princes Street and The North British Hotel.
