Day 021/22. A sunny dining room.

A sunny corner of the Dining Room at Kingston Lacy House in Dorset today.
One of my favourite National Trust properties, although it does have a bit of a history.
Kingston Lacy has a dynamic history. Over centuries the Bankes family built, altered, embellished and rebuilt their house. Their wealth came from extensive estates and profitable marriages, including inherited wealth from Caribbean plantations supported by the Atlantic slave trade.
The last family owner, Ralph Bankes died in 1981 and the Kingston Lacy estate, including 12 working farms, and Corfe Castle were bequeathed to the National Trust.
