Two very different sculptures seen today.  The horse and foal is cleverly carved out of a tree trunk in a garden. The grouse is made of steel and placed among trees at the very busy Broxden roundabout where the M90 and A9 meet.  It is very tall at 21 feet on a 28ft high column and was gifted by the drinks giant Edrington Group in 2010 to commemorate the 800th anniversary of Perth’s status as a Royal Burgh and was chosen as a “symbol of Perthshire” Until fairly recently Perth had several whisky companies based in the city and the Famous Grouse whisky is made near Crieff not far away.
