Coughton Court

Having blipped Harvington Hall last Saturday I decided to follow it up today with another Throckmorton house.

Although Harvington Hall was owned by the Throckmorton family for hundreds of years, their main home was Coughton Court in Warwickshire. They are a family with a very long history and this year celebrate their 600th anniversary of residence at Coughton. They still live there even though the house is now owned and maintained by the National Trust.

Because of the Throckmorton's staunch Catholicism the house has much in common with Harvington, with priest hides and secret chapels.
