Holocaust Remembrance Day 2022

This evening Jack and I went to see the NTLive showing of Tom Stoppard's Leopoldstadt. It is a brilliant, moving play commemorating the Holocaust and which probably needs to be seen more than once. It is Stoppard's story. We came away feeling so sad.

This feeling was made worse for me when on arriving home, we saw the tv report of 2 Jewish men being attacked last night as they locked up their bakery business for the night. This happened in Stamford Hill, North London where I lived from 3 to 16 years old. We were an Irish family living in a mainly Jewish community. We met nothing but kindness from our neighbours. So, so sad.
