Nicky and her Nikon

Wild weather day

We have had sunshine, rain, more sunshine and wind today - but not as bad as it was in some other parts of the country - we had planned to go to Norfolk this weekend but changed our minds when we saw that winds of 50mph were forecast for today. A pity in a way, as there was the most fantastic aurora borealis on Friday night in the part of Norfolk that we go to, I saw the photos of it on social media of a local photographer and they were every bit as spectacular as one sees in Iceland or Norway.

We had sunshine for our walk this morning, although it did rain again later on. Adam was in London this weekend and stayed with Luke and Meriel, and we were going to join all of them for brunch this morning but as I am semi- isolating we decided not to.  We have had a lazy day at home, I made a late lunch and then Gavin had a long video call with his brother in Canada.

Today marks the platinum jubilee of the queen, the first British monarch to achieve 70 years on the throne, which is quite remarkable - and she has been an excellent monarch too.
