Looking up

It was so lovely to have my son home for the weekend, after his first 3 weeks military service. After almost 2 weeks at the COVID positive recruits camp, he had a week back with his troop. It was really tough, with 3 night maneuvers, no extra sleep, carrying 25kg plus kit and weapons, hand grenades, big gun, pistol. I think he quite likes it, but it’s mentally and physically demanding.
I went outside to do some work in the garden, shoveling and weeding. After an hour I found myself lying on the deck, completely wrecked! Looked like a good time to get the blip. After an hours rest, I managed to walk down to the shops, via the forest, but took it pretty easy after.
