Preparing for summer

The day started chilly and windy,  and I was not looking forward to turning  out for a work session at  our local wildlife area. (I had to go as I had set the date!). However, C , A and I set to, and managed to clear a lot of invasive bramble and  remove blackthorn suckers, while the sun came out and warmed us up. Four  hours later we decided to call it a day. My photo shows the site at the end of our session. the grassy area in the foreground should be full of wildflowers in a few months'  time.

This afternoon I sorted out my Achimenes (Hot Water Plant) tubers  (spurred on by TonyG's recent activities!) and they are now ready to plant  for this summer's flowers .
