The pier at Ryde

This morning Mr MC, the Son and I decided that we'd visit Osborne House, somewhere I've always wanted to see but it was closed for the week, the reason being that Half Term is apparently next week here in the IoW, not this week.  We were both disappointed and annoyed as daughter #2 had phoned last week to check that we could visit and was assured that we could...
We then carried on to Ryde where the skies began to darken and cloud over, even as we set out on the pier, thus the rather stormy and bleak view.  Daughter #2 suggested that we three go the Needles but unfortunately, even had the mist and gloom permitted us to see these famous rocks, the winds were so strong that I could hardly stand up and indeed the viewing point was closed for reasons of safety.
We did have a delicious lunch of fresh sandwiches at the Horse and Groom though and joined the rest of our party for dinner at yet another pub restaurant this evening.
