Serenity….. The River Outlet at the Taylor Dam…

Keith and I were out and about for a while this morning. A quick trip to the hospital for Keith’s blood tests and then a short drive to the Taylor Dam. There are dozens of black swans and other water fowl on the lake. Recent rain has lifted the level of water flowing in the upper Taylor River and out through the outlet. On our way home I checked out the river at the Omaka Culvert. It is just on the point of breaking through the shingle structure. There was a 5.6 earthquake 35 km south-west of Blenheim just after 4.pm. I didn’t feel it as I was moving around in the house. But apparently it was widely felt.
