Garrulus glandarius

It was another promising morning. We have decided to try not to waste good weather. Everything can go hang. We have given up on doing jobs. I am not very good at them anyway. Let’s make the most of sunshine. It was cold though. We went to Newton Abbot today and walked from there to Stover Park, along the dried up Stover Canal, which a group of volunteer navvies are enthusiastically trying to bring back to life. There are woods on the way too, and a great deal of tree felling is taking place. The photo shows a huge tree that has been spared. In Stover Park I was lucky enough to take a photo of the shy woodland bird, the jay- Garrulus glandarius.- see EXTRA
There were lots of families and dogs near the lakes. Dog name of the day was Rhubarb.
On the way back several little egrets flew over in formation- collective noun - sedge, siege, skewer, congregation.
Bird of the day - jay
