Twinning of two Communities

This afternoon Mary, Casca, Miriam and Alepher visited Mr Phiri and his 18 Adult Education students in their newly formed English group in Chipatula. They are a very dedicated group of women whose main plea to Wells for Zoe was to help their teacher Mr Phiri to pay his rent, as they were unable to do so.
With Miriam from W4Z they are involved in a 12 school, pilot, Adult Education project. Funds are not available, so all the teachers are volunteers!! Lively discussion, questions and answers ensued with words of wisdom, advice and encouragement from Mary, Casca, Miriam, Alepher, Mr Phiri and some women and eventually led to the the twinning of Chipitula Adult ED. class with MICA Mchanguatua Adult Ed group. Watch this space but these are two powerful groups of women, so the only way is up. My God, there are some days when its great to be alive and this was certainly one.
The picture shows the farewell dance when preschool, primary, secondary and adult education students, joined hands with teachers and Wells for Zoe and sang "education is the way forward for Malawians", led by our newly qualified nurse, Alepher (in red), who finished her exams earlier today and came straight to work as a volunteer
