Ramblings from Zambia....

conservation agriculture...

We had a long day out in the field in Chasefu district today.  We visited three projects that one of the departments in our church is doing.  It was great to see how peoples livihoods are being changed with very simple ways of doing agriculture.  We also visited a nutrition project where mothers are being helped to grow different crops to supplement their diet and after talking with the clinical officer in the local health centre, he told us they rarely have a case of malnutrition anymore.  This is very encouraging news!

Some of the roads we travelled on were not roads and after another rainy season if they are not worked on, will be very challenging for local people.

In the evening, we had a debrief session and set out again early tomorrow morning for another interesting day!
