Forking the compost

… or composting the fork?

I was taking some compost out of my compost bin today when I came across something hard and metallic. After digging a bit further I found this fork - I’ve been missing a fork for years! Not blaming anyone in particular, but it looks like someone was a bit over enthusiastic when scraping the vegetable peelings into the compost bin! Although the compost round about it seems to have matured nicely, the fork itself seems unscathed. It’s in the dishwasher now!

That missing fork has bugged me for a long time - so the discovery quite made my day!
