Starfish

Have been hankering for a new Acer Palmation for a while.
Ended up buying six!
Five tiny saplings and one established plant have been sheltering under cover for the last few weeks in case of a harsh frost.
After being nothing but a few bare twigs they are suddenly coming to life.
These tiny starfish leaves are about the size of a £1 coin, tiny but perfectly formed.
Won a £100 on the premium bonds this morning, still be using the money to buy a large planter for the front garden .
Have decided, with a heavy heart to remove the lavender bushes that have grown to about five feet, they are a haven for the bees but they have gone really woody and should have been removed about five years ago.
Harsh pruning has extended their stay but sometimes in gardening you just have to be cruel to be kind.
( l will be getting more lavender)
