Pine Flower

Slightly reminiscent of a raspberry or even a pineapple, this is a pine flower that the wind has detached from the very top of the tall pines at the end of our garden.  It is full of pollen and gives the effect of smoking slightly if tapped.  As these trees are about 80ft tall the flowers are not visible with the naked eye from the ground but later in the year they form elongated cones over 5 inches long.
