Dear Deer

At first I thought there was a large dog moving amongst the bushes but couldn't quite make anything out.  Then suddenly, two roe deer emerged into the open, though one went straight back into hiding.

The braver one took a few steps and started grazing.  It then sensed my presence and looked up but instead of running off as I expected, it resumed grazing.

I suppose they get used to people in that location but I have no doubt it would have quickly disappeared if I had had a dog with me.
