CLOSE ENCOUNTERS

I had ten minutes in the park between errands during which I sneaked up behind this heron, saw the grey wagtails again darting around the edge of the island (extra), heard and saw a chiffchaff (extra) and bumped into (not literally, I'm glad to say) Wally, who used to be in the same choir as me and who told me he'd tested positive this morning. We kept at a safe distance and I must say he looked the picture of health!
