A future Olympian?

Although there was little activity on the river today this young canoeist was going up and down the stretch of the river near the Royal Canoe Club. Some of the GB team train at the Canoe Club on Trowlock Island so maybe this chap is in a GB squad?

The Club was the first Canoe Club in Britain, it was established in 1866 and in 1873 was renamed the Royal Canoe Club , by order of Queen Victoria. The clubhouse was rebuilt in 2008 so it now houses a gym, ergo room and changing facilities.

I was surprised to see bluebells on my walk today! Maybe a blip tomorrow.

Today was our wedding anniversary ( I did get out the photo album…things were so different then we only had about 20 official photos taken ) so we went out for a nice lunch at Shambles restaurant in Teddington High Street. It is a privately owned Italian Restaurant and the food is always nice and freshly cooked. The garden there has been enlarged across the back of the two adjoining properties which are just offices. Not many there today but it is a nice place to meet especially when it’s warm enough to sit outside.
