Poppy Anemones

These are the only two flowering at the moment, but it’s great because they add to the daffs and grape hyacinths that are still flowering. The tulips should be out any day now.
We had a lovely day yesterday, but I’m a bit tired after the driving. It’s almost five hours return journey for me. So we had a very casual wander in Hamilton Wood this morning. We avoided all the spots that we knew would be busy and were fortunate to meet no-one.
There was a cacophony of birdsong this morning, even a very loud woodpecker who really startled Geordie with the noise he was making. We found a new badger sett, freshly dug in the last 24 hours. I would love to come up to the wood at night and watch them.
