Female blackcap

This morning I went to my art group then did some food shopping before going to F's house for a sandwich.

We then set off to a nature reserve near Welshpool.  We saw a pair of blackcaps in one of the trees.  The male (with a black cap) stayed behind twigs but the female (with a brown cap) was more obliging.  Not a good shot as they were a long way away.  I also saw my first Speckled Wood butterfly of the year and several Orange Tips.

We then went to a garden centre where I bought a plant for my pond and F bought a flower plant for the shady area in his garden.
