Corbicula

I just wanted to say it. Corbicula. It's the name for the luggage she's carrying--enormous baskets of pollen. Their legs accommodate storage of an astonishing amount of the stuff. Some of the bees looked like they were really having trouble taking off after a good roll in those stamens. The poppies are at about eye level and it's fascinating to watch all the activity.

I need a bug person to help me with the extra. This creature is so tiny it was hard to find a way to focus on it--just a speck on the end of the asparagus frond. Maybe 1/4 inch without the antenna. My first guess was grasshopper, but there's something off about that, especially around the head and eyes. On the other hand, with those legs and antenna, what else could it be?

Update: Bug Guide suggests it is an Ichneumonidae, a kind of wasp.
