Translations

It's been a cultural couple of days.

Last night we went to see "The Dolls House" at the Lyceum. It was enjoyable and well put together, but I though it just slightly lacked charisma. Maybe that's just because I was coming down with a cold.

Tonight we saw "Translations" at the Kings Theater which was a poignant story about the everyday relationships and conflicts in 19th century Ireland. The language barrier, people looking forward, people reluctant to change, culture, resentment and punishment. It was driven more by relationships than by plot, but it was engaging and very well presented.

I'm sure that either MrsCyclops or I (or maybe both) will write up proper reviews tomorrow...
