A room with a view

Now that we're back in Tokyo (and especially because we're staying on one of the man made islands in the bay) we thought we'd try to see some of the more future facing stuff that is going on here. So with that we set off for Maitan, the Museum (?) of Emerging Science and Technologies. We met Asimo, he waved at me when I said hello and waved, I must try to find him on Facebook now. We got Me'd and had a digital for of ourselves tracked across a room while interacting with machines around the place. That was quite interesting, your Me would wave at others as you passed them and reach out to places you hadn't been as you passed them.

Then off to Shibuya to have a wander across the busiest junction in the world. It didn't seem that bad until we came back later on at night and it was heaving. We found where the Japanese hipsters hang out, saw a load of fixies, had a looks round some shops and finished up by riding the driverless (not*)train back to the hotel over the Rainbow Bridge (seen above).

* it doesn't run on rails, just regular rubber tyres on concrete tracks
