A pretty impenetrable gate...

...and the tumbledown remains of a smallholding by the res...

Several people have tried to make a go of this smallholding - the last people had sheep, pigs and chickens, but they have disappeared and the rough and ready sheds are gradually going to ruin. We don't know whether it's complaints from the neighbours, field rents becoming too expensive or what... but no-one seems to have lasted the pace...

We did another trot round the res after a cuppa this aft - it was a bit grey, but we managed to avoid the rain.
