Young Starlings

The garden was full of young starlings and their parents today. The youngsters were bigger than the parents, sitting on the bird feeder, yet still demanding to be fed.

The topsoil arrived on time and just as the lorry drove off along came Janice and Marvin who had pushed their wheelbarrows from the other end of town. Great timing, so we got stuck in and soon had all the soil in the vegetable bed. It took much less time than I expected.
Just in time to pick Maggie up from nursery. This afternoon has flown by with lots of games and nonsense. Maggie was fascinated by all the birds in the garden and even had a go at trying to photograph them.
We made a pot of lentil soup, Maggie’s favourite, for our tea.
