No. 68

This is another building on my One Street. I have no idea who owns it, but as almost everything in this hamlet seems to have been owned by just a couple of families I guess it's not an 'outsider'.

It seems a shame that it's been left to crumble away, especially since it is just off La Place. Still, it's good to know that they have a smart house number.

At the beginning of the year the town hall sent everyone new numbers for their houses. The numbers don't seem to relate to anything. There are around thirty houses in the village and we are number 185. On the lane leading away from the centre one house is number 455. We have two number Ones side by side. The postman just roars with laughter and shrugs when you ask for an explanation!
