Alice Park.

Today’s the day when Granny is in charge. Grace and John have gone to a wedding in Dartmouth and won’t be back until late.

I set out with the girls mid morning to Alice Park on the edge of Larkhall and London Road.
I noticed when I passed yesterday that they had large flags out (maybe of the Commonwealth) in preparation for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration weekend.

We went to the cafe first for the promised ice creams and my coffee. ( When we had ice creams here at Easter the girls were wearing sun hats! At least it was dry today!) There were union flags out and posters promoting the Jubilee party in the park on the 3rd June. Sadly I won’t  be here for that.

Jude had a go on the slide but Eda made straight for the sand pit as we had bought a bag of sand toys. Jude played in the sand too but unfortunately kept knocking down Eda’s sand castle efforts!

At the end of the park amongst the trees there is an area of long grass and wild flowers. Both girls enjoyed playing there. Eda was picking clover, she actually found a four leaf clover on Monday!

It’s a lovely park with something for everyone. Whilst sitting watching the girls in the sand pit I could also see young men using the skate board area. There are extensive pathways and we’ve seen them doing cycling proficiency here, it will be an ideal place for Eda to practice riding her ‘proper’ pedal bike.

Made it back up the hill for lunch.

A bit of respite now whilst Jude has her nap and then it will be full on again. All good granny fun! I won’t be stopping up for the party goers I’ll be ready for an early night.
