The all new anglesey

A group of my school friends and I have been meeting up in Anglesey for the 2nd May bank holiday weekend for years.
This year my email clearly said the 2nd may bank holiday weekend. However it was misinterpreted to be the 2nd of may bank holiday. Panic ensued, but it turns out everyone had misinterpreted it. So this year we met up on the 1st may bank holiday weekend! As one friend pointed out "Maybe in the future you should revert to the more widely accepted practice of using dates in arranging events rather than relative occurrences of national holidays in any given month! "

Over time we have grown our numbers. First there were wives and now children. So we have now outgrown our Anglesey retreat. So for the first year we had our weekend at a new venue.

Yesterday was about:
Everyone arriving
Hugs
Smiles
Pick ups and spin arounds
The kids relearning who was who
Meeting the new arrival
Buying the curry
Buying the beer

Today was about:
making dens
walking along the river bank
watching the fishes
watching the ducks
picnics in the sunshine
Catching the runaway lamb
SpagBol
The lads sneaking off to the pub

This is a tradition that we have all agreed we will always do. No matter how big the venue needs to get. It's so great to see those kids I grew up with raising kids of their own. It's so good to see our kids growing up together.
Next year we just need to make sure that we use dates to arrange the weekend!
