Marjorie's ramblings

Just in time

This morning I was awakened by a tapping on the window. It was Tintin and Snowy.

When they heard that I had gone to Spain without them AND I had taken Humshaugh Bear along, they decided to see if they could join the fun. Sadly it took them all week to walk and hitch lifts to Rupit.

I was pleased to see them and persuaded them to travel home wrapped safely in bubble wrap in my suitcase.

We said our good byes to the Hotel Estrella and to the wonderful people who run it. It is a third generation family run hotel and is currently in the safe hands of Louis and Suzanna. Louis is the chef and his food is truly magical. Suzanna is always around and thinks of what her guests need before they know it themselves.

On Tuesday we went to Vic for a town visit because it was due to be wet. A big basket of large umbrellas were ready for us by the front door.

It has been an excellent holiday. The 13 of us were already friends and we just had a blast of walking, eating and generally enjoying ourselves. Lots of joking was involved.

Today's flight was straightforward, but the luggage did not arrive on the belt at Newcastle Airport for an hour. The baggage area was crowded with people from the Alicante, the Faro and the Paris flights, plus ourselves.

Back at home and there is a lot to catch up on.
