horrendous *squwarkchittertweeter* outside the back door this morning - when i peeped out, it was a harassed mother blackbird and two half-grown ones yelling to be fed. heard them again this evening over by the fence and this time managed to get the camera out, tho the babies annoyingly kept hopping behind leaves in their desperation to be fed bits of the apple i'd just dropped under the tree for the very purpose. totally hilarious - this is the babiest of the two, more fluffy bits than big bro, tho they both have some sleek black feathers, with mummy.

i definitely don't want kids!

elsewhere, a nice dinner with L, who i used to work with and who now is an editor with a (modest) expense account! we've been trying to have lunch since she left a year ago - the prob has been her quiet days were my busy ones and vice versa. but now i have a lot more leisure time we're aiming for a spot of lunch in glasgow and maybe a spot of culture for afters, rather than the sticky toffee pudding we both had tonight despite both being on health/eating less drives!
