The Plantings…..

These indigenous plants are growing in garden plots in the Fairhall Cemetery out in the Marlborough countryside. The group of three unusual plants on the right are Lancewoods, “Horoeka” in te reo, or “Pseudopanax crassifolius” They are amazing plants.
Today was very busy one of mixed emotions from sad to glad. After lunch I picked up friend Dawn and we drove out to the Rangitane Centre in the village of Grovetown. There we attended the funeral of a long-standing jogging/running friend, Sharon. We sat with a group of other former Women Joggers. We go back to the eighties and nineties of the last century. Despite our sadness at loosing our friend Sharon we were all very happy to meet up with one another. Good friends are like stars in the skies. We often don’t see them but we know they are always there. Arohanui, Kia Kaha.
