Beacon

Last night a local person nominated by a friend to light the newly erected village beacon in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. 
Another kind person provided many bottles of Prosecco to enable the gathered people to raise a toast.
Despite the inclement weather it was a very special occasion and certainly one to mark and celebrate. 
I doubt another monarch of the United Kingdom will exceed this length of service. I doubt another monarch will be held in such high esteem.
