Can we paddle?

A crazy but brilliant kind of day!! Her swimming lesson first off. Which was great again. They were learning breast stroke legs. She remembers the stages still, need to speed up the process as she's thinking very hard about each stage to get it spot on! She did really well. We got a taxi to ballet as we had lots of stuff for the weekend ahead. It was a different teacher doing the class today, plus one of the big girl helpers (who did brilliantly and basically taught the class). Her, Isla and Isabelle were totally inseparable for the whole class. Right at the end the teacher seemed to have run out of ideas and put on their warm up song again. Katie and Isla walked out in disgust - Katie asked me "why do we have to do that again, its our to start song?" They did return to the group to do their curtsy and thank Teacher.

We headed straight off to the station and got a train to Scarborough. Mummy was taking pre-Christening formals for friends of ours, and Katie was playing with their little boy. They havent seen each other in about 18months yet played together like such good friends and were no problem with each other at all. Mummy had been asked also to help baby Megan's mummy with her slings so we had a lovely play together with 4 different carriers and wraps. I got to play with my first ever brand new wrap - a stunningly beautiful Kokadi Erna. Love it a lot.

After the shoot, we went to Grandads. On the way there Katie had requested a beach trip and repeated the request at Grandads. We had a walk round Peasholm Park to feed the ducks (who were very cute teeny ducks, not babies, just miniature and lovely). We got Katie the requisite ice cream before we had a nice time on the beach. Katie squished every abandoned sandcastle, jumped in every hole and played on the stairs. Usually, about three of these stairs are visible. You can sit on the promenade and kick your feet in the sand sometimes and at worst a child can jump off it no problem. However, as the picture shows, the tide has changed that recently. I've not seen the sand so low. Here, she is sat on the steps after deciding she wanted to paddle. She thought better of it but still wanted to be barefoot on the sand.

Katie began to flag on the way home but fought it long enough to have a play in the park while I went for a few bits of shopping. She got a touch of second wind and made it through tea and a little more ice cream. That apparently was what had been keeping her going. Very shortly after I asked her if I could take her to bed. She agreed and took a maximum of three minutes from leaving the lounge to being asleep in her bed.
