Inside the Penny Black

So Sunday again, and already time for Sunday lunch.

The Penny Black in Bicester gets its name from its former incarnation as a Post Office. It's now a Wetherspoon pub, and, as is often the case with this chain's establishments, both outside and inside show distinguished architecture.

I'm afraid that we've been indulging in a lot of eating and drinking over the past few days, and today was no exception. We had enormous roast lunches (he, beef; she, pork) with good crispy Yorkshire puds, roast potatoes, and properly cooked (al dente) vegetables (peas, brocolli, carrots) for the princely sum of £6.99 each to include a pint of Ruddles. Good there's a bus to take us back from here to our home doorstep!
