Crack Willows Beside the River…

There was a spell of torrential rain around 5.30am….Far too heavy to walk in. Maisie and I set out later than usual when the rain had eased. Even so there were still quite a lot of dogs and owners about. The Crack Willows have lost their leaves. They are so named because shoots and seedlings break with an audible “crack” when bent. Our eldest son’s good friend, Ross, from childhood and then Medical School, called in this afternoon for a surprise visit. So nice to see him. And daughter Maragaret flew in from Wellington this evening. It is cold, very cold with lots of snowfall down south from Marlborough. Stay safe and warm folks.
