Out Again

I returned to the Lowry tonight, this time to see Rhod Gilbert.

2 hours of hilarity, I had tears running down my face, though the subjects that he was raising were in themselves serious, though his experiences were, as you expect for a comedian, funny.

In recent years he and his wife have been through a lot, he had a mini-stroke, his mother died of dementia, a week later his father had a heart attack and had to go into a home, where he died during Covid (alone, no visitors allowed), Rhod has been diagnosed with a form of ADHD (ADD) and dyslexia, while his wife has also been diagnosed with an untreatable problem (with a very long name that I can't remember), and through all of that he and his wife were going through infertility treatment as they were struggling to have a baby (the problem being on his side, a lot of the show dealt the the taboo subject of male infertility and its treatment).

Upon leaving the theatre the sun had just set.
