Flower Friday...Pohutukawa

Thirroul
Day 3

My plant app has identified this wonderful blossom as a Pohutukawa, a New Zealand Christmas tree  ..an ancient plant of great importance to the Maori people... I do hope the identification is correct.
I saw a lot of lovely flowers today but this is my favourite. There was also a bird squawking in the shrub, identified by a passer by as a honey eater. However, it did not emerge sufficiently to take photo, and eventually flew off.
I've added an extra of an amazing Agarve almost bent double, in a garden overlooking the sea...thanks Bikerbear:).
Another lovely day and a good walk along the beach and around some of the streets nearby...back a little earlier as it did cloud over early afternoon.
