Holiday - part 2

Technically the holiday finished yesterday. 9 lovely nights, in a proper campsite, with a proper tent, and a thick airbed (albeit sometimes cold at night)

Yesterday, after catching up with the Harvey's in Bamburgh, we arrived at Dave and Karen's in East Linton, just outside Edinburgh at about 6.30, where we were warmly greeted with lots of tea and a lovely vegetable curry. Dave runs a woodland crafts business, and Jon met him when they trained to be Bushcraft Instructors back some 8 or more years ago. Dave has made a full time business out of it in Edinburgh and is called 'Tree-ditions' so Jon, as 'Backyard Bushcraft' (as was) has agreed to teach Bushcraft along side Dave at the very prestigious Royal Highland Show this week (postponed from 2020)

We stayed with Dave and Karen overnight (in their caravan) and this morning drove over to the show ground where we have spent the day setting up the area. 2 tepees up, a tarp and hammock area, and a fire pit dug. I'm just extending my holiday as a spectator - and chief tea maker.

The weather has been warm but very windy which makes putting up tarps tricky. But the fire worked perfectly for our venison stew which we threw together.

My bed is made, and I think I will be heading there quite early tonight, while the men continue prepping their site.

Hoping for dry weather - and sun too if it isn't being too greedy!
