Energy field.

We went to see our younger son briefly and drop some items off for him. We’d a tasty bite in his garden.

Afterwards we had a walk in the hospital woods, and we took a bit of a detour. There is more to this view than the photograph clearly shows. The field contains a local wind farm of four wind turbines. There’s a small element of public ownership; a Community Fund supports many local projects that benefit the community. The Fund is managed by Community Scotland. There are also two major overhead high voltage transmission lines, carrying renewable energy from wind farms further afield in Scotland. Below ground is a cross country high pressure gas pipeline, conveying (offshore) gas from north east Scotland. And for good measure there’s a mobile phone booster mast. And amongst the lush grass were some cattle, albeit more in surrounding fields.
