State Library of NSW

Andrea and I tagged along for a special visit (along with members of the AIMBI - Australian Institute of Medical and Biological Illustrators) of the State Library Photography collection.....

There was about 10 of us in total and Alan The Incredibly Knowledgeable Curator Davies took us through a very brief and amazingly hands on tour through some very rare and interesting examples of Australian photography from the 1800's through to now! (including the 2nd digital picture ever taken in Australia.....)

Seriously, it was great fun, educational, Alan was very entertaining and we got to see and handle some amazingly rare photographs (one of only two pictures of the short lived Sydney Horse drawn trams know to exist, some relatively risque glamour shots and many photographs of fantastic facial hair!)

So a good night all round!

Early start tomorrow for our drive to Beechworth!
