Anniversary picnic

The view from our picnic spot looking across to the Lomonds.
A very small congregation at church today but we all enjoyed the service.
Afterwards we headed to the Sidlaws carpark, which we thought might be busy but wasn't, and then walked a short distance to find a spot for our picnic lunch. Then a short walk through some wildflower meadows with lots of butterflies (at least 6 different sorts) and no people.
Back at the car I decided to go for a short run in the wooded area as I thought it would be cooler - it was but still too hot so it was a very short and slow run.
Back home and a cool down then a spell in the hammock in the shade before watering some of the veg.
Our evening meal consisted of Herdwick hogget loin chops, new potatoes, turnip fried in butter, homegrown peas and mangetout an dfinally homemade ice-cream (raspberry and redcurrant). All washed down with some red wine.
I'm not sure what the official temperature was but the car said 28C. (The garden thermometer said 40 but it is temperamental!)
