Jude the Obscure

A change in the weather today - cool and mizzly. The roses are beginning their second flush and have been left along by the deer this time. This one, the only one flowering so far, is one of my favourites for its delicious perfume and unusual form.

The schools are on holiday and there’s chaos at Dover which is being blamed on the French. They would, wouldn’t they!

We have been vetted by Adele and she’s coming to make a start next week. She can only fit us in once a fortnight for 2 hours but she may be able to fit us in for an extra slot on a different day.

Last night I had a long gossipy giggle with Cornish Jo. She’s off to India soon. We were trying to come up with an alternative to the Japan trip she’s booked with her son Alex in October if Japan isn’t open by then. I had a brainwave of Togo and Benin but she’s on a waiting list with Wild Frontiers to go to a voodoo festival in the New Year so that was no good. I fancy that myself.
