A time for everything

Manchester

Friday July 22
We have had our usual effect on the English weather, and today was forecast to be a rather wet day, which I know is badly needed, and welcomed by the country’s gardeners, I just wish it would come at night! We decided to go and explore a bit more of Manchester. We have been with Janet and John to Salford Quays and enjoyed an Indian meal on the “Curry mile”, but that’s about it. We visited the Art gallery first (top left) and enjoyed a coffee and cake in their cafe. By the time we came out it had just about stopped raining, and there was even a bit of clearing over the next hour or so while we wandered round, admiring the different styles of architecture, including the impressive Central Library (thumbnail picture), the Free Trade Hall, now a Radisson Hotel ( lower right) and the Cathedral, lower central image. On our way back home we picked up some fish and chips for dinner!
