Diary of an Edinburgher

Alert!

Popped up to pick up my prescriptions. They have a new system, which I encountered last time (a couple of months ago), but had completely forgotten about it, and had to go and ask again how to do it - ie fill in a form then register etc. HOW could I have NO knowledge or memory of this palaver?? A bit of a worry.

Actually, we’re both a bit ‘absent minded’ even though we put everything on the phone calendars, eg we both forgot to put the car in for the MOT this afternoon! And it’s there in black and white on the calendar. Will have to start using alerts too.

Pip came to visit about midday, and he stayed for the afternoon. He’s no bother, and in fact, he’s much more sociable than Archie - he comes and sits with us, while  Arch prefers to sit on his own in the kitchen.

We took both dogs out for a walk and decided on the Hermitage. I drove to the duck pond while JR walked both dogs. The day changed quickly from blue skies and white fluffy clouds, to dark brooding clouds, then back again. Check out the Extra, taken about five minutes before this one!

We didn’t let Pip off the lead, as he can be unpredictable with other dogs. And just as well we didn’t, as a big, bounding, intact male Doberman came charging up to us from afar. The owner was miles away, calling him, to no avail. Pip did make a growly lunge at him (but didn’t reach him)…

Pip and I came home through the paddock, while the others walked further. When JR came home, we realised that the car should have been put into the garage while we were strolling around duck ponds and paddocks, so I rushed there with it (it’s only a couple of blocks away).

JR and Hazel have gone off to the ‘Dazzle’ preview this evening, which is jewellery by established and up-and-coming contemporary artists. They are hoping there will be free nibbles and bubbly…

Abi came round to pick up Pip, and we had a couple of beers out in the back garden.  Abi admitted to using alerts on her calendar app too - so it’s not just old age!

I have an important scan tomorrow, so I have a couple of alerts set!!
