A little spring flower

Three of us were on the river bank this morning walking towards Cawdor. Milly was in her element snuffling along the river bank and Jan was ever patient as I stopped to admire and photograph a new subject. I had just got lined up on a Dipper about 10 feet away when that dog came tearing through the undergrowth to show me yet another treasure she had found. Exit one Dipper. Just where I was knelt was this carpet of white. They are one of the delights of a spring walk in deciduous woodland. The big, demurely drooping flowers respond immediately to the sun and raise their heads, petals wide open, to take it in, only to close again as soon as cloud or evening comes.
